PhoneGap, built by Vancouver's Nitobi Software, is an open source development tool for building fast, easy mobile apps with JavaScript.

Today, mobile development is a mess. Building applications for each device--iPhone, Google Android, Windows Mobile and so forth--requires a different development framework and programming language. As such, phones and other mobile devices have become second class citizens.

PhoneGap enables you to develop an app once, and deploy it on all sorts of different mobile devices: iPhone, Google Android, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and so forth.

PhoneGap recently won the Peoples Choice Winner at Web 2.0 Expo Launch Pad in San Francisco. More importantly, there are already more than 50 apps in the iPhone App Store build using PhoneGap.
